No matter how wonderful our dreams, how noble our ideals, or how high our hopes, ultimately we need courage to make them a reality. Without action, it’s as if they never existed.
Courage

The courage not to bow to pressure, the courage to stand alone, the courage to maintain one’s determination, the courage to look deep into one’s heart and confront one’s own cowardice and arrogance, the courage to challenge difficulties—those who possess this kind of courage are true victors. No matter how wonderful our dreams, how noble our ideals, or how high our hopes, ultimately we need courage to make them a reality. Without action, it’s as if they never existed. The biggest obstacles to our progress exist within our own lives in the form of cowardice and the tendency to give up. Breaking through these barriers will unleash a surging wave of change. Unless we take one step forward, we cannot take the next, much less a thousand.

The Way of Jesus the Nazarean

It was into the ancient and mystical B’nai-Amen Temple of the Nazorean that Jesus was born; as it is written: “He shall be called a Nazorean!” (Matthew 2:23). This B’nai-Amen Temple was the advanced level of the Nazorean Covenant which brought forth the “Chosen Ones,” and is that advanced level of truth which Jesus has again restored and is again seeking to make available to all righteous Nazorean who wish to espouse its fullness.

The quote above from Matthew 2:23 states a fact: Jesus was a Nazarene. But the verse also contains misleading information: ” . . . he made his home in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled . . . ”

What the writer of this verse intended to do was separate Jesus from the sect of Nazarenes — a group that considered themselves “Jews,” but whose teachings were quite different from those of the Sadducee and Pharisee Jews. Important information confirming this fact comes from Luke’s “Acts of the Apostles”:

Acts: 24:5: “We have . . . found this man . . . a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.” Acts 24:13: ” . . . I admit to you, that according to The Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our ancestors, believing everything laid down according to the law or written in the prophets.”

Nazarene or Nazareth?

A People Erased from Existence and The City That Never Was. The Disassociation of Jesus from the Holiest of Peoples.

For 20 centuries, most of the life of Jesus has been hidden or suppressed, but modern archeological discoveries have now shed new light on his enigmatic life. Archeologists have now proven that the city of Nazareth did not exist until three centuries after his death, and questions long debated in scholarly circles are now coming to the forefront.

Armed with ancient sources like the Dead Sea Scrolls, the papyrus books of Nag Hammadi, and the long overlooked writings from the early church, modern scholars and theologians are reconstructing the life and times of Jesus, and what they are finding is very different from the life and teachings we have been “led to believe.”

Nazareth, The City That Never Was

The evidence for a 1st century town of Nazareth does not exist – not literary, not archaeologically, and not historically.

Biblical scholars and clergy alike have always had difficulty accepting the possibility that at the time of Jesus there was no city called “Nazareth.” They have always resisted this possibility and sometimes, quite vigorously.

The Encyclopaedia Biblica, a work written by theologians, and perhaps the greatest biblical reference work in the English language, says: “We cannot venture to assert positively that there was a city of Nazareth in Jesus’ time.”

Nazareth is not mentioned in any historical records or biblical texts of the time and receives no mention by any contemporary historian. Nazareth is not mentioned in the Old Testament, the Talmud (the Jewish law code), nor in the Apocrypha and it does not appear in any early rabbinic literature.

Nazareth was not included in the list of settlements of the tribes of Zebulon (Joshua 19:10-16) which mentions twelve towns and six villages, and Nazareth is not included among the 45 cities of Galilee that were mentioned by Josephus (37AD-100AD), a widely traveled historian who never missed anything and who voluminously describes the region. The name is also missing from the 63 towns of Galilee mentioned in the Talmud.

The first reference to Nazareth is in the New Testament where it can be found 29 different times. However, there is still cause for speculation as to whether or not the city existed at the time of Jesus. It is mentioned only in the Gospels and Acts. These books do refer to Nazareth, but they did not originate at this time, they are later writings. The earlier writings of the NT (Paul etc) mention Jesus 221 times – but never mention Nazareth.

The Essenes, The Nazarenes

At the time of Jesus, there were three major Jewish Sects. The Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the Essenes. The Pharisees and the Sadducees were relatively similar in their beliefs and traditions, but the Essenes were radically different and openly opposed the theology, doctrines, and the spiritual integrity of both the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

There are numerous historical, literary and archaeological accounts of the existence of the Essenes, yet the bible is strangely silent about them. We know of their specific geographic locations throughout Egypt and ancient Palestine, we know of their customs and traditions, and we know the details of their deeply rooted spiritual convictions and of their esoteric religious beliefs.

The word Essene is a collective term and is not necessarily a distinctive designation, just as the word Christian encompasses a wide base of institutionalized systems of religious beliefs, attitudes and practices. There are currently over 34,000 separate Christian groups that have been identified throughout the world. Most are independent churches.

At the time of Jesus, there were three distinct Essenian groups that played important roles in his life, and their religious practices and spiritual theology mirror in his teachings. They were:

The Theraputae of Egypt; where the infant Christ and his family fled during Herods rein.
The Essenes of Qumran (Dead Sea Scrolls), the strict, celibate monastery of which John the Baptist was a part.
The Nazarenes of Mount Carmel, the cooperative family village where Jesus lived and studied.
Josephus and other classic writers tell us of the Essenes and their intense appreciation for the inspired Law of God and that they “strove to be like the angels of heaven.” They also opposed slavery, the sacrificing of animals and the eating of flesh.

Their highest aim was to become fit temples of the Holy Ghost (1 Cor 6:19), to be healers and perform cures, especially spiritual cures, and to be spiritually qualified as forerunners of the Messiah, the latter being the primary spiritual focus of the Nazarenes of Mount Carmel.

Original Hebrew and Aramaic Texts Translated and edited by Edmond Bordeaux Szekely

THE SEVENFOLD PEACE

“Peace be with you,” spoke the Elder in greeting to the Brothers who had gathered for the teachings

“Peace be with you,” they answered; and they walked together along the bank of the river, for so was their custom when an Elder taught the Brothers, that they might share the teachings with the angels of the Earthly Mother: of air, of sun, of water, of earth, of life, and of joy.

And the Elder saicl to the Brothers: “I would speak to you of peace, for of all the angels of the Heavenly Father, peace is that for which the world most yearns, as a tired babe longs to put his head on his mother’s breast. It is the lack of peace that troubles the kingdoms, even when they are not at war. For violence and warfare may reign in a kingdom even when the sounds of clashing swords are not heard. Though no armies march one against the other, still there is no peace when the Sons of Men walk not with the angels of God. I tell you truly, many are those who do not know peace; for they are at war with their own body; they are at war with their thoughts; they have no peace with their fathers, their mothers, their children; they have no peace with their friends and neighbors; they know not the beauty of the Holy Scrolls; they labor not through the day in the kingdom of their Earthly Mother; nor do they sleep at night in the arms of their Heavenly Father. Peace r eigns not within them, for ever do they thirst for that which in the end brings only misery and pain, even those trappings of riches and fame which Satan uses to tempt the Sons of Men; and they live in ignorance of the Law, even that Holy Law by which we live: the path of the angels of the Earthly Mother and the Heavenly Father.”

“How, then, may we bring peace to our brothers, Master?” asked some of the Elder, “for we would that all the Sons of Men share in the blessings of the angel of Peace.”

And he answered: “Truly, only he who is at peace with all the angels can shed the light of peace on others. Therefore, first be at peace with all the angels of the Earthly Mother and the Heavenly Father. For the winds of a storm stir and trouble the waters of the river, and only the stillness that follows can calm them once again. Take care when your brother asks you for bread, that you give him not stones. Live first in peace with all the angels, for then your peace will be as a fountain that does replenish itself with the giving, and the more you give, so the more you will be given, for such is the Law.

“Three arc the dwellings of the Son of Man, and no one may come before the face of God who knows not the angel of Peace in each of the three. These are his body, his thoughts, and his feelings. When the angel of Wisdom guides his thoughts, when the angel of Love purifies his feelings, and when the deeds of his body reflect both love and wisdom, then does the angel of Peace guide him unfailingly to the throne of his Heavenly Father. And he should pray without ceasing that the power of Satan with all his diseases and uncleannesses may be cast out of all of his three dwellings; that Power and Wisdom and Love rnay reign in his body, his thoughts, and his feelings.

“First shall the Son of Man seek peace with his own body; for his body is as a mountain pond that reflects the sun when it is still and clear; but when it is full of mud and stones, it reflects nothing. First must Satan be cast out of the body, that the angels of God may enter again and dweh therein. Truly, no peace can reign in the body unless it is as a temple of the Holy Law. Therefore, when he who suffers with pains and grievous plagues asks for your help, tell him to renew himself with fasting and with prayer. Tell him to invoke the angel of sun, the angel of water, and the angel of air, that they may enter his body and cast out of it the power of Satan. Show him the baptism within, and the baptism without. Tell him always to eat of the table of our Earthly Mother, spread with her gifts: the fruits of the trees, the grasses of the fields, the milk of beasts good for eating, and the honey of bees. He shall not invoke the power of Satan by eating the flesh of bea sts, for he who kills, kills his brother, and whoso eats the flesh of slain beasts, eats the body of death. Tell him to prepare his food with the fire of life, not the fire of death, for the living angels of the living God serve only living men.

“And though he sees them not, and hears them not, and touches them not, still is he every moment surrounded by the power of God’s angels. While his eyes and ears are closed by ignorance of the Law and thirst for the pleasures of Satan, he will not see them, nor hear them, nor touch them. But when he fasts and prays to the living God to cast out all the diseases and uncleannesses of Satan, then will his eyes and ears be opened, and he will find peace.

“For not only he suffers who harbors the diseases of Satan within him, but his mother, his father, his wife, his children, his companions, these suffer also, for no man is an island unto himself, and the powers that flow through him, whether they be of the angels or of Satan, truly these powers do unto others for good or for evfl.

“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to our body the angel of Life to dwell therein for ever.’

“Then shall the Son of Man seek peace with his own thoughts; that the angel of Wisdom may guide him. For I tell you truly, there is no greater power in heaven and earth than the thoughts of the Son of Man. Though unseen by the eyes of the body, yet each thought has mighty strength, even such strength as can shake the heavens.

“For to no other creature in the kingdom of the Ear I thly Mother is it given the power of thought, for all beasts that crawl and birds that fly, live not of their own thinking but of the one Law that governs all. Only to the Sons of Men is it given the power of thought, even that thought that can break the bonds of death. Do not think because it cannot be seen, that thought has no power. I tell you truly, the lightning that cleaves the mighty oak, or the quaking that opens up cracks in the earth, these are as the play of children compared with the power of thought. Truly each thought of darkness, whether it be of malice, or anger, or vengeance, these wreak destruction like that of fire sweeping through dry kindling under a windless sky. But man does not see the carnage, nor does he hear the piteous cries of his victims, for he is blind to the world of the spirit.

“But when this power is guided by holy Wisdom, then the thoughts of the Son of Man lead him to the heavenly kingdoms and thus is paradise buflt on earth; then it is that your thoughts uplift the souls of men, as the cold waters of a rushing stream revive your body in the summer heat.

“When first a fledgling bird tries to fly, his wings cannot support him, and he falls again and again to earth. But he tries again and one day he soars aloft, leaving earth and his nest far behind. So is it with the thoughts of the Sons of Men. The longer he walks with the angels and keeps their Law, so do the stronger his thoughts become in holy Wisdom. And I tell you truly, that day will come when his thoughts will overcome even the kingdom of death and soar to everlasting life in the heavenly kingdoms; for with their thoughts guided by holy Wisdom do the Sons of Men bufld a bridge of light thereby to reach God.

“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to our thoughts the angel of Power, that we may break the bonds of death.

“Then shall the Son of Man seek peace with his own feelings; that his family may delight in his loving kindness, even his father, his mother, his wife, his children, and his children’s children. For the Heavenly Father is a hundred times greater than all fathers by seed and by blood, and the Earthly Mother is a hundred times greater than all mothers by the body, and your true brothers are all those who do the wal of your Heavenly Father and of your Earthly Mother, and not your brothers by blood. Even so, shall you see the Heavenly Father in your father by seed, and your Earthly Mother in your mother by the body, for are not these also children of the Heavenly Father and the Earthly Mother? Even so shall you love your brothers by blood as you love all your true brothers who walk with the angels, for are not these also children of the Heavenly Father and the Earthly Mother? I tell you truly, it is easier to love those newly met, than those of our own house, who have k nown our weaknesses, and heard our words of anger, and seen us in our nakedness, for they know us as we know ourselves, and we are ashamed. Then shall we call on the angel of Love to enter into our feelings, that they be purifiers And all that was before impatience and discord, will turn to harmony and peace, as the parched ground drinks in the gentle rain and becomes green and soft, tender with new life.

“For many and grievous are the sufferings of the Sons of Men when they cleave not to the angel of Love. Truly, a man without love casts a dark shadow on everyone he meets, most of all those with whom he lives; his harsh and angry words fall on his brothers like fetid air rising from a stagnant pool. And he suffers most who speaks them, for the darkness that encloses him invites Satan and his devas.

“But when he calls on the angel of Love, then is the darkness dispersed, and the light of sunshine streams from him, and the colors of the rainbow swirl about his head, and gentle rain falls from his fingers, and he brings peace and strength to all those who draw near to him.
“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to those of our seed and of our blood the angel of Love, that peace and harmony may dwell in our house for ever.’

“Then shall the Son of Man seek peace with other Sons of Men, even with the Pharisees and priests, even with beggars and the homeless, even with kings and governors. For all are Sons of Men, whatever be their station, whatever be their calling, whether their eyes have been opened to see the heavenly kingdoms, or whether they yet walk in darkness and ignorance.

“For the justice of men may reward the undeserving and punish the innocent, but Holy Law is the same for all, whether beggar or king, whether shepherd or priest.

“Seek peace with all the Sons of Men, and let it be known of the Brothers of Light, that we have lived according to the Holy Law since the time of Enoch of old, and before. For we are not rich, neither are we poor. And we do share all things, even our garments and the tools we use to till the soil. And together we work in the fields with all the angels, bringing forth the gifts of the Earthly Mother for all to eat.

“For the strongest of the angels of the Heavenly Father, the angel of Work, blesses each man who works in the way best for him, for then shall he know neither want nor excess. Truly is there abundance for all men in the kingdoms of the Earthly Mother and the Heavenly Father when each man works at his task; for when a man shirks his task, then another must take it up, for we are given afl things in the kingdoms of heaven and earth at the price of labor.

“Always have the Brothers of Light lived where rejoice the angels of the Earthly Mother: near rivers, near trees, near flowers, near the music of birds; where sun and rain may embrace the body, which is the temple of the spirit. Nor do we have ought to do with the edicts of rulers; neither do we uphold them, as our law is the Law of the Heavenly Father and the Earthly Mother; neither do we oppose them, for no one rules save by the will of God. Rather do we strive to live according to the Holy Law and strengthen always that which is good in all things; then will the kingdom of darkness be changed to the kingdom of light; for where there is light, how then can darkness remain?

“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to all humankind the angel of Work, that having a holy task we should not ask for any other blessing.’

“Then shall the Son of Man seek peace with the knowledge of the ages past; for I tell you truly, in the Holy Scrolls is a treasure a hundred times greater than any of jewels and gold in the richest of kingdoms, and more precious, for surely they contain all the wisdom revealed by God to the Sons of Light, even those traditions which came to us through Enoch of old, and before him on an endless path into the past, the teachings of the Great Ones. And these are our inheritance, even as the son inherits all the possessions of his father when he shows himself to be worthy of his father’s blessing. Truly, by studying the teachings of ageless wisdom do we come to know God, for I tell you truly, the Great Ones saw God face to face; even so, when we read the Holy Scrolls do we touch the feet of God.

“And when once we see with the eyes of wisdom and hear with the cars of understanding the ageless truths of the Holy Scrolls, then must we go among the Sons of Men and teach them, for if we jealously hide the holy knowledge, pretending that it belongs only to us, then we are as one who finds a spring high in the mountains, and rather than let it flow into the valley to quench the thirst of man and beast, buries it under rocks and dirt, thereby robbing himself of water, as well. Go among the Sons of Men and tell them of the Holy Law, that they may thereby save themselves and enter the heavenly kingdoms. But tell them in words they may understand, in parables from nature that speak to the heart, for the deed must first live as desire in the awakened heart.

“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to our knowledge the angel of Wisdom, that we may walk in the paths of the Great Ones who have seen the face of God.

“Then shall the Son of Man seek peace with the kingdom of his Earthly Mother, for none can live long, neither be happy, but he who honors his Earthly Mother and does her laws. For your breath is her breath; your blood her blood; your bone her bone; your flesh her flesh; your bowels her bowels; your eyes and your ears are her eyes and her ears.

“I tell you truly, you are one with the Earthly Mother; she is in you, and you in her. Of her were you born, in her do you live, and to her shall you return again. it is the blood of our Earthly Mother which falls from the clouds and flows in the rivers; it is the breath of our Earthly Mother which, whispers in the leaves of the forest and blows with a mighty wind from the mountains; sweet and firm is the flesh of our Earthly Mother in the fruits of the trees; strong and unflinching are the bones of our Earthly Mother in the giant rocks and stones which stand as sentinels of the lost times; truly, we are one with our Earthly Mother, and he who clings to the laws of his Mother, to him shall his Mother cling also.

“But there will come a day when the Son of Man wfll turn his face from his Earthly Mother and betray her, even denying his Mother and his birthright. Then shall he sell her into slavery, and her flesh shall be ravaged, her blood polluted, and her breath smothered; he will bring the fire of death into all the parts of her kingdom, and his hunger will devour all her gifts and leave in their place only a desert.

“All these things will he do out of ignorance of the Law, and as a man dying slowly cannot smell his own stench, so wfll the Son of Man be blind to the truth: that as he plunders and ravages and destroys his Earthly Mother, so does he plunder and ravage and destroy himself. For he was born of his Earthly Mother, and he is one with her, and all that he does to his Mother9 even so does he do to himself.

“Long ago, before the Great Flood, the Great Ones walked the earth, and the giant trees, even those which now are no more than legend, were their home and their kingdom. They lived many score of generations, for they ate from the table of the Earthly Mother, and slept in the arms of the Heavenly Father, and they knew not disease, old age, nor death. To the Sons of Men did they bequeath all the glory of their kingdoms, even the hidden knowledge of the Tree of Life which stands in the middle of the Eternal Sea. But the eyes of the Sons of Men were blinded by the visions of Satan, and by promises of power, even that power which conquers by might and by blood. And then did the Son of Man sever the golden threads that bound him to his Earthly Mother and his Heavenly Father; he stepped from the Holy Stream of Life where his body, his thoughts, and his feelings were one with the Law, and began to use only his own thoughts, his own feelings, and his own deeds, making hundre ds of laws, where before there was only One.

“And so did the Sons of Men exile themselves from their home, and ever since have they huddled behind their stone walls, hearing not the sighing of the wind in the tall trees of the forests beyond their towns.

“I tell you truly, the Book of Nature is a Holy Scroll, and if you would have the Sons of Men save themselves and find everlasting life, teach them how once again to read from the living pages of the Earthly Mother. For in everything that is life is the law written. It is written in the grass, in the trees, in rivers, mountains, birds of the sky and fishes of the sea; and most of all within the Son of Man. Only when he returns to the bosom of his Earthly Mother will he find everlasting life and the Stream of Life which leads to his Heavenly Father; only then may the dark vision of the future come not to pass.

“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to the kingdom of our Earthly Mother the angel of joy, that our hearts may be full of singing and gladness as we nestle in the arms of our Mother.

4 ‘At last, shall the Son of Man seek peace with the kingdom of his Heavenly Father; for truly, the Son of Man is only born of his father by seed and of his mother by the body, that he may find his true inheritance and know at last that he is the Son of the King.

“The Heavenly Father is the One Law, who fashioned the stars, the sun, the light and the darkness, and the Holy Law within our souls. Everywhere is he, and there is nowhere he is not. All in our understanding, and all we know not, all is governed by the Law. The falling of leaves, the flow of rivers, the music of insects at night, all these are ruled by the Law.

“In our Heavenly Father’s realm there are many mansions, and many are the hidden things you cannot know of yet. I tell you truly, the kingdom of our Heavenly Father is vast, so vast that no man can know its limits, for there are none. Yet the whole of his kingdom may be found in the smallest drop of dew on a wild flower, or in the scent of newly-cut grass in the fields under the summer sun. Truly, there are no words to describe the kingdom of the Heavenly Father.

“Glorious, indeed, is the inheritance of the Son of Man, for to hirn only is it given to enter the Stream of Life which leads him to the kingdom of his Heavenly Father. But first he must seek and find peace with his body, with his thoughts, with his feelings, with the Sons of Men, with holy knowledge, and with the kingdom of the Earthly Mother. For I tell you truly, this is the vessel which will carry the Son of Man on the Stream of Life to his Heavenly Father. He must have peace that is sevenfold before he can know the one peace which surpasses understanding, even that of his Heavenly Father.

“After this manner, therefore, pray to your Heavenly Father, when the sun is high at midday: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, send to all the Sons of Men your angel of Peace; and send to your kingdom, our Heavenly Father, your angel of Eternal Life, that we may soar beyond the stars and live for ever.”

And then the Elder was quiet, and a great stillness stole over the Brothers, and no one wished to speak. The shadows of late afternoon played on the river, still and silvery as glass, and in the darkening sky could faintly be seen the filigree crescent moon of peace. And the great peace of the Heavenly Father wrapt them all in deathless love.

White Wizard is your Conscious Self – who you are and who you are becoming.White Wizard is the Magician, whose powers are activated by wisdom that emanates from the heart. Such wisdom is not the intellectual understanding known in Western culture; it is the wisdom that comes from an alignment of mind and heart. An open, trusting heart is a refined tool of perception. Allowing yourself to ‘not know’ opens the door of the mind to a deeper understanding of the universe. White Wizard asks you to fully utilize this aligned mind to participate in magic.

White Wizard invites you to step into self-empowerment. Empowerment comes from self-acceptance, integrity, and commitment to your evolution. Self-empowerment is not to be found outside oneself. Anything outside that brings you empowerment also has a divine foundation within you. If you feel a need for the approval of others, look to self-empowerment. When you feel effectively engaged, doing what gives you joy, your energy naturally expands to inlcude more of who you are, and magic flows synchronistically into your life. Claim your alignment with the highest wisdom. Call forth divine action in all that you do!Align your own will with divine will and your Essence Self. Be transparent, innocently allowing magic to come through you rather than needing to create it. Open to heart-knowing and limitless possibilties. White Wizard is a tool of the light, a conduit for the work of Spirit. A wise magician is spontaneous and transparent, allowing magic to come in rather than trying to control it or make it happen. A magician dances the dance of love through offering gifts of freedom to others. This is real magic. Freed from the need to use power to manipulate or control, a magician uses wisdom to manifest liberation and love. The harmonic wisdom of White Wizard is melody, the progression of signle tones within a composition. White Wizard symbolizes the sacred journey of your individual life. As a harmonic magician, you are a novel yet universal container for the expression of the Divine. While you play the melody of your journey’s spirit song, the Creator provides the harmony.Melody is to music what story line is to story. Utilize the elements you have chosen for exploration in your life – your gifts, talents, abilities, motivations, circumstances, and the other characters in your play. Orchestrate the most interesting and growth-engendering story line from this combination of possibilities. Understand that you are the player and the played in the melody in your life.

White Wind is your Higher Self & Guide.

White Wind is the galactic wind, the catalyzing current, the Spirit that moves through all things. It is the divine breath that gives life to all creation, the unseen essence of solar energy. White Wind is the breath of inspiration, the fertilizing force of the wind. Its essence is the movement of Spirit as it penetrates into form to enliven, purify and inspire.

Receive the gift of White Wind by simply taking a conscious breath. Amidst the seemign complexity, beathe consciously. Allow your life to be more like the wind, free-flowing and open to Spirit.

White Wind represents spontaneity and simplicity. As you experience the truth of the present moment, White Wind leaves you free to move on to the next moment without the baggage of desire, regret or expectation. White Wind is the simple knowledge that invisible forces are always moving in your life, guiding and inspiring.

White Wind also embodies the concept of presence. Presence is an expression of beingness, a creator of intimacy. It has to do with being wise in your simplicity. From simple beingness, your true identity emerges. Presence is being open, aware, and in the now. Presence is ‘being there’ for whatever is.

Think back to a time when someone looked deeply into your eyes, acknowledging your beingness with their full presence. Remember how wonderful and intimate that felt. When you wnat to be intimate with someone, become equally open, aware, and present. When you bring your awareness into the present moment, everything else falls away. When you are fully present, your mind is not preparing responses to what it is hearing while you’re listening and feeling. Drop your evaluating and reactive nature. Trust that your heart will have the appropriate response when the time comes. Allow your mind to be quietly responsive, like a pool of water, natural in its unconditional acceptance of the moment.

Presence is simple. It is like being caught in the moment by the beauty of nature. Presence is your natural state of being. When you are present, your heart feels open, charged, full. When you are present, whether alone or with another, you are loose and relaxed. Time may seem to slow down. You can expand your awareness with ease, allowing yourself to truly see and be seen. You let your feelings speak through your eyes, and the ‘feeling channel’ in you breathes freely, without expectation or judgement.

Blue Hand is your Subconscious Self and Hidden Helper.Blue Hand is a gateway, an opening, a portal from one understanding to another. A clue to the meaning of Blue Hand is found in the meditation, “I am, by thinly veiled design, the threshold to other dimensions. In my ending is my beginning. The initatory gateway awaits.” Blue Hand is the seventh or last archetype in the cycle of development of primary being. It represents the power found in completion. Blue Hand is seen as a closure, which is really an opening to another level of being.

Like the fluidity of moving water, Blue Hand is associated with the process of dance, mudra, and beauty. This movement is a metaphor for the ebb and flow of life. In meditation with Manik, experience the flowing quality that is the beauty of the cosmic dance. Remember this essence and this fluidity at times when your life feels most inflexible or lacking in beauty.

Blue Hand represents the ‘beauty way’, the ability to see intrinsic beauty within yourself and in all things. Living the beauty way requires being in your full beauty and power. From this place, your self-authority naturally flows. This is the position where your ego is aligned with divine will. When you are standing in your full beauty and power, your very presence invites others to be all that they are. To the Maya, Blue Hand represents the deer, the gentle, serenely aware guide who walks in fluid beauty and grace, opening and revealing.

The energy of Blue Hand will also help you to manifest spiritual skills – especially those intuitive gifts such as oracular divination. In each incarnation, you bring certain gifts. Each path – from priest and priestess to shaman and dancer to artist and gardener – carries varied tools and skills. You have chosen certain gifts and tools that offer you a way to interact with others and your life process. This may be as simple as calling on your innate wisdom and insight in order to see clearly the gifts and tools that you carry.

Yellow Seed represents your Challenge and Gift. With maturity and awareness this challenge will turn into a Focus. This is what you desire to learn in this lifetime. One of the shadows of Yellow Seed is acting as the unawakened seed, the sleeper who wants to remain protected and invulnerable. In this shadow you may think you are serving yourself through this illusion of safety and security. Yet if you maintain distance from the world of possibilities outside your shell, your new horizons are kept at a distance. Take a risk, and reveal all that you are! Beyond the confines of definitions and self-concepts and the security of everyday patterns, the excitement of unknown possibilities beckons.Examine how protective limitations affect your natural growth. Such issues are reflected in phrases like, “My world works just the way it is”; “I can’t do that”; “I’m just fine the way I am”; or “I feel too inadequate.” The sae wall that is intended to create safety and security also builds a barrier that limits Spirit from creating new possibilities in your life. One way to access the transformation offered in the shadow of Yellow Seed is to realize that the seeds – your dreams, desires, and destiny – lie waiting within you to be awakened. In accepting that you are the fertile ground, you feel the authentic safety and security within, and the outside world becomes ripe with new possibilities.

Red Serpent is your Compliment – something that comes naturally to you. “I am the flint and tinder of the sacred fire,” reads the meditation for Red Serpent. In the Great Mystery, flint and tinder represent the instinctive combustion that initiates movement in the physical body toward union with Spirit. When flint and tinder are brought together, the spark of divinity awakens and ignites the fire of your essence. Red Serpent invites the purifying spark of the sacred fire, the kundalini, to align and integrate your body, mind and spirit. Red Serpent can help you uncover apparent blockages in specific chakras to clear an align them. If you are working on a process of purification, invite Red Serpent to assist you.Red Serpent’s symbol is the serpent, representing healing and wholeness. This Mayan medicine can remove toxins, rejuvenate and transform dis-ease. Red Serpent is also known by the Maya as the kultanlilni, or kundalini, the energy that moves up from the base of the spine and out through the crown chakra. There are two aspects of this force, the ida and the pingala, representing its male and female polarities. One of the ancient secrets of Red Serpent is the activation of higher states of consciousness through balancing these two polarities so that they dance within us as one. Another metaphor for this serpent energy comes from the Mayan words luk umen tun ben can, or “those absorbed by the serpent of the sacred knowledge.” When the seven chakras are fully activated, one experiences an enlightened state.

Red Serpent represents the basic structural apparatus of your motivations, instincts, desires, and your innate movement toward wholeness. Red Serpent asks you to shed the skin of your past and step into the fires of alchemical transmutation. In this, rebirth is revealed. This desire is an innate response encoded in the depths of your being.

With the energy of Red Serpent, you learn to use the innate intelligence of the body. In this culture you may have become separated from this wisdom. It works like this: when you suppress and ignore your issues, your body receives and retains the unconscious metaphors of that which is ignored. This may be expressed through physical symptoms that bring your unconscious issues to conscious awareness. When this happens, work toward a more conscious relatonship with your body – and work with the physical metaphors in order to heal yourself on all levels.

The body has a specific kind of consciousness through which messages are clearly delivered. In fact, the body itself is a living metaphor that mirrors your mind, emotions and spirit. However, the body also remembers all it has experienced, and consequently holds the consciousness of the past within it, including past wounds and traumas. In healing these, remember the innocence of your body. Treat it with love and respect. Open yourself to be aware of its messages and metaphors rather than storing them. Be willing to look at the positive intent beneath any symptoms or physical process your body is using to communicate. Explore whatever it may be asking you to see.

In this alignment process, you can use images or energies that come to you in meditation or dreams. Journey through your body to catalyze and explore any sensations, colors, shapes, or images. In these times we have a profound opportunity to transcend both our physical and our spiritual genetics. The body’s integration provides an unparalleled opportunity for personal evolution. Learn to expand and utilize your senses to access your body’s wisdom and vitality. Don’t ‘think’ about it; simply allow your body to sense intuitively the solutions necessary for change and growth.

Red Serpent also represents the connection between powerful physical/ecstatic experiences and the light of higher consciousness. This is an initiation of awakening through the body and senses, rather than in negation of them. As Jose Arguelles says in The Mayan Factor, “Like the Maya, we shall understand that the path to the stars is through the senses.” Within the body are held the keys to fully awakening our consciousness. This deeper understanding is expressed in tantric practices, where spirituality and sexuality are integrated and honoured as a means to enlightenment. Red Serpent represents the integration of mind, body and spirit.

Red Serpent is associated with the sacred tools of the drum and the rattle. Drums and rattles can break down old patterns or bring energy into alignment.

Chapter 5 • Synchrogalactic Yoga II: the Practices
21
Day Five: ALPHA
Level 1: Meditating the Vishuddha (Throat) Chakra
Sit in a comfortable meditative posture. Keep your spine erect and body relaxed. With the body
completely still, practice a few moments of natural mind meditation. Once the mind is sufficiently
clear, direct your attention to your throat or Vishuddha chakra. Make it as clear and pristine as
possible, glistening and sparkling with vibrant energy. When it is pure and translucent, radiating
from your throat, allow it to dissolve and transform itself into a blue sixteen-petalled lotus.
Concentrate on this area inside of your throat chakra. This center contains the will to communicate
and to extend oneself to others in patterns of informative thought and behavior.
The Vishuddha chakra is the channel of communication bringing the fourth dimension through
to the third dimension. This deals both with the mental and emotional bodies and is the center
for artistic expression and communicating intelligence derived from the higher mental spheres
(5th and 6th).
The Vishuddha chakra is known by some yogic traditions as the chakra of spiritual rebirth, and in
Kundalini yoga as the “fountain of youth”, the place where spontaneous physical rejuvenation begins.
To activate the Vishuddha chakra you may recite prayers, sing devotional songs or practice mantra.
Chant “Ahhh” seven times to open the throat chakra.
This chakra is governed by the feminine principle or Shakti Goddess Shakini (Knowledge). The
Vishuddha is also the center of purification and discrimination and the locus of vijnana, or divine
analytical wisdom. By focusing our attention on this chakra, we can discriminate between messages
from the higher mind from messages of ego.
This Vishuddha chakra is related with Nada Yoga, or the branch of kundalini yoga concerned with
sound vibration (Vishuddha and Muladhara are considered to be the two basic centers of vibration).
The Muladhara chakra corresponds to the cosmic vibratory root, while the Vishuddha chakra is
the receiver of the higher harmonics of the music of the spheres. When this chakra reaches its
highest state, sounds emitted take on magical qualities that change the space of the listener through Day Five: ALPHA

vibration. This chakra can also be utilized as a receiving station to tune into the thoughts and
feelings of people both far and near.
This is the supermental reception center of thought-waves and transmissions which discriminates
then directs messages to the appropriate chakra. As this chakra awakens, we can begin to direct the
energies of the body from the lower to the higher chakras, reconnecting our expression as higher
resonant channels of the cosmos.
Note: The nerve channel in the throat is also associated with kurma nadi, the tortoise nadi. When
this nadi is awakened the practitioner is able to completely overcome the desire and necessity for
food and drink. (This has been demonstrated by many yogis, particularly in India. Examples of such
yogis/yoginis can be found in Autobiography of a Yogi, by Sri Paramahansa Yogananda).
Vishuddha affirmation: May the vision of the star elders of the great councils of light and wisdom speak
through me so that all may ascend to sublime grace!

CHAPTER 26

Dharani

At that time Bodhisattva Medicine King rose from his seat, bared his right shoulder, pressed his palms together and, facing the Buddha, spoke to him, saying, “World-Honored One, if there are good men or good women who can accept and uphold the Lotus Sutra, if they read and recite it, penetrate its meaning, or copy the sutra scrolls, how much merit will they gain?”

The Buddha said to Medicine King, “If there are good men or good women who offer alms to buddhas equal in number to the sands of eight hundred ten thousand million nayutas of Ganges Rivers, what is your opinion? The merit they gain will surely be great, will it not?”

“Very great, World-Honored One.”

The Buddha said, “If there are good men or good women who, with regard to this sutra, can accept and uphold even one four-line verse, if they read and recite it, understand its meaning, and practice it as the sutra directs, the benefits will be very many.”

At that time Bodhisattva Medicine King said to the Buddha, “World-Honored One, I will now give to those who preach the Law dharani spells that will guard and protect them.” Then he pronounced these spells:

anye manye mane mamane chitte charite shame shamitavi

shante mukte muktame same avishame sama p.349same

kshaye akshaye akshine shante shame dharani

alokabhasha pratyavekshani nivishte abhyantaranivishte

atyantaparishuddhi ukule mukule arade parade

shukakshi asamasame buddhavilokite dharmaparikshite

samghanirghoshani bhasyabhasya shoddhi mantra

mantrakshayate rute rutakaushalye akshara

akshayataya abalo amanyanataya1

World-Honored One, these dharanis, these supernatural spells, are pronounced by buddhas equal in number to the sands of sixty-two million Ganges Rivers. If anyone should assault or injure these teachers of the Law, then he will have assaulted and injured these buddhas!”

At that time Shakyamuni Buddha praised Bodhisattva Medicine King, saying, “Excellent, excellent, Medicine King! You keep these teachers of the Law in your compassionate thoughts, shield and guard them, and for that reason you pronounce these dharanis. They will bring great benefit to living beings.”

At that time Bodhisattva Brave Donor said to the Buddha, “World-Honored One, I too will pronounce dharanis to shield and guard those who read, recite, accept, and uphold the Lotus Sutra. If a teacher of the Law acquires these dharanis, then although yakshas, rakshasas, putanas, krityas, kumbhandas, or hungry spirits should spy out his shortcomings and try to take advantage of them, they will be unable to do so.” Then in the presence of the Buddha he pronounced these spells:

jvale mahajvale uke muke ate atavati nrite nritavati

itini vitini chitini nritini nrityavati

World-Honored One, these dharanis, these supernatural spells, are pronounced by buddhas equal in number to the sands of the Ganges River, and all of them respond with joy. If anyone should assault or injure these teachers of the Law, then he will have assaulted and injured these buddhas!”

At that time the heavenly king Vaishravana, protector of the p.350world, said to the Buddha, “World-Honored One, I too think compassionately of living beings and shield and guard these teachers of the Law, and therefore I pronounce these dharanis.” Then he pronounced these spells:

ade nade nunade anadu nadi kunadi

World-Honored One, with these supernatural spells I shield and guard the teachers of the Law. And I will also shield and guard those who uphold this sutra, making certain that they suffer no decline or harm within the area of a hundred yojanas.”

At that time the heavenly king Upholder of the Nation, who was in the assembly along with a host of thousands, ten thousands, millions of nayutas of gandharvas who surrounded him and paid him reverence, advanced to the place where the Buddha was, pressed his palms together, and said to the Buddha, “World-Honored One, I too will employ dharanis, supernatural spells, to shield and guard those who uphold the Lotus Sutra.” Then he pronounced these spells:

agane gane ghori gandhari chandali matangi janguli

vrunasi agasti

World-Honored One, these dharanis, these supernatural spells, are pronounced by forty-two million buddhas. If anyone should assault or injure these teachers of the Law, then he will have assaulted and injured these buddhas!”

At that time there were daughters of rakshasa demons, the first named Lamba, the second named Vilamba, the third named Crooked Teeth, the fourth named Flowery Teeth, the fifth named Black Teeth, the sixth named Much Hair, the seventh named Insatiable, the eighth named Necklace Bearer, the ninth named Kunti, and the tenth named Stealer of the Vital Spirit of All Living Beings. These ten rakshasa daughters, along with Mother of Demon Children, her offspring, and her attendants, all proceeded to the place where the Buddha was and spoke to the Buddhain unison, saying, “World-Honored One, we too p.351wish to shield and guard those who read, recite, accept, and uphold the Lotus Sutra and spare them from decline or harm. If anyone should spy out the shortcomings of these teachers of the Law and try to take advantage of them, we will make it impossible for him to do so.” Then in the presence of the Buddhathey pronounced these spells:

iti me iti me iti me ati me iti me nime nime nime nime

nime ruhe ruhe ruhe ruhe stahe stahe stahe stuhe stuhe

“Though he climbs upon our very heads, he will never trouble the teachers of the Law! Whether a yaksha, or a rakshasa, or a hungry spirit, or a putana, or a kritya, or a vetada, or a skanda, or an umaraka, or an apasmaraka, or a yaksha kritya, or a human kritya, or a fever, a one-day, a two-day, a three-day, a four-day, or up to a seven-day, or a constant fever, whether he is in man’s form, in woman’s form, in young boy’s form, in young girl’s form, though only in a dream, he will never trouble them!”

Then in the presence of the Buddha they spoke in verse form, saying:

If there are those who fail to heed our spells

and trouble and disrupt the preachers of the Law,

their heads will split into seven pieces

like the branches of the arjaka tree.

Their crime will be like that of one who kills father and mother,

or one who presses out oil,

or cheats others with measures and scales,

or, like Devadatta, disrupts the Order of monks.

Anyone who commits a crime against these teachers of the Law

will bring on himself guilt such as this!

After the rakshasa daughters had spoken these verses, they said to the Buddha, “World-Honored One, we will use our own bodies to shield and guard those who accept, uphold, read, recite, p.352and practice this sutra. We will see that they gain peace and tranquillity, freeing them from decline and harm and nulling the effect of all poison herbs.”

The Buddha said to the rakshasa daughters, “Excellent, excellent! If you can shield and guard those who accept and uphold the mere name of the Lotus Sutra, your merit will be immeasurable. How much more so if you shield and guard those who accept and uphold it in its entirety, who offer alms to the sutra rolls, flowers, incense, necklaces, powdered incense, paste incense, incense for burning, banners, canopies, music, who burn various kinds of lamps, lamps of butter oil, oil lamps, lamps of various fragrant oils, lamps of sumana flower oil, lamps of champaka flower oil, lamps of varshika flower oil, and lamps of utpala flower oil, and who in this manner offer hundreds and thousands of varieties of alms. Kunti, you and your attendants should shield and guard teachers of the Law such as these!”

When the Buddha preached this Dharani chapter, sixty-eight thousand persons gained the truth of birthlessness.

Chapter Twenty-six: Dhāranī

Six important points

Point One, concerning the word dhāranī [supernatural spells]

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: Dhāranī here means Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. This is because dhāranī represents the secret words of the Buddhas. The five characters of the daimoku are the secret words of the secrets of the Buddhas of the three existences.

Now when Nichiren and his followers chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, they are widely propagating the dhāranī, for dhāranī is that which thwarts or rejects evil and upholds good.

Point Two, concerning the words anye and manye in the dhāranī spells of Bodhisattva Medicine King

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: Anye means shi,“stopping” or “cessation.” Manye means kan, “seeing” or “meditation.” From these two words derive the two elements of concentration and insight (shikan). Accordingly, these spells are the spells of Bodhisattva Medicine King. Bodhisattva Medicine King is the original state or form of the Great Teacher T’ien-t’ai.

Anye represents the element of mind in us, and corresponds to “Wonderful” of the Wonderful Law. Manye represents the element p.184of body in us, and corresponds to the word “Law.” When we make these words “our bodies and minds being the Wonderful Law” our spell, we are affirming that one can attain Buddhahood in one’s present body or form.

Point Three, concerning the Goddess Mother of Demon Children

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: The word “Demon” stands for the father, and the word “Children” stands for the ten demon daughters. The word “Mother” is Hārītī.

Taking the words in the name in reverse order,1 we may say that the word “Goddess” represents the ninth consciousness. The word “Mother” represents the eighth consciousness, the level at which ignorance appears. The word “Children” represents the seventh and sixth consciousnesses. The word “Demon” represents the first five consciousnesses, those of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. In the case of the teachings that pertain to transmigration, the pre-Lotus Sutra teachings, the Goddess Mother of Demon Children is an evil demon. But in the case of the teachings that pertain to the extinction of transmigration, the Lotus Sutra teachings, she acts as a benevolent demon. Hence we may say that the Goddess Mother of Demon Children and the ten demon daughters represent the mutual possession of the Ten Worlds and the hundred worlds and thousand factors, that is, the principle of three thousand realms in a single moment of life.

The deity known as Sambō Kōjin, or Kōjin of the Three Treasures, is a manifestation of the ten demon daughters. These three types of Kōjin are the God of Hunger and Thirst, the God of Greed and Desire, and the God of Blocks and Hindrances.

Now the practitioners of the Lotus Sutra, because they transform the three poisons of greed, anger, and foolishness into the three virtues of the Dharma body, wisdom, and emancipation, are p.185not to be identified with the god Sambō Kōjin. For persons who have no faith in the Lotus Sutra, Kōjin is what his name implies, a rough god who awakens demons. But when he is in the presence of practitioners of the Lotus Sutra, he acts as a guardian deity.

Point Four, on the passage “Excellent, excellent! If you can shield and guard those who accept and uphold the mere name of the Lotus Sutra, your merit will be immeasurable.”

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: The “name of the Lotus Sutra” means the daimoku. “Those” of the passage refers to all the practitioners of the Lotus Sutra among the living beings of the country of Japan.

We may also say that, while the word “those” may refer either to men or women, here it is intended as praise for women in particular, and thus refers to women. The ten demon daughters shield and guard women in particular. It is like the case of the dragon king’s daughter who speaks of the role of saving women when she says, “I unfold the doctrines of the Great Vehicle / to rescue living beings from suffering” (chapter twelve, Devadatta). There is a similar case [in which the “person” refers to a woman in particular] in the “Medicine King” chapter that reads, “A person who can accept and uphold this sutra.”2

Point Five, on the passage “Kuntī, you and your attendants should shield and guard the teachers of the Law such as these!”

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: Kuntī in her original form or state is the bodhisattva Manjushrī. The sutra passage is saying that, wherever the practitioners of the Lotus Sutra p.186may be, whether on land or sea, she will shield and guard them.

Nine evil and one good, as the expression has it—the passage makes clear that Kuntī is the one good daughter among the ten demon daughters. In terms of the ten evil acts that arise from earthly desires, Kuntī corresponds to the second of the ten, the act of stealing. This is because the daughters are counted in reverse order, so that Kuntī, the ninth daughter, corresponds to the second of the ten evil acts.

Point Six, concerning the five groups of supernatural spells pronounced in this chapter

The Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings says: The five groups of supernatural spells represent our individual bodies [or Myoho-renge-kyo]. Myō is represented by the ten demon daughters,  by the heavenly king Upholder of the Nation, ren by the heavenly king Increase and Growth, ge by the heavenly king Wide-Eyed, and kyō by the heavenly king Vaishravana. The five characters Myoho-renge-kyo thus correspond to the five groups of supernatural spells, and the five groups of supernatural spells are our individual bodies.

The spells of the ten demon daughters represent the single character myō and are made up of nineteen phrases. The sutra text says of them, “Though they [the enemies of the Law] climb upon our very heads, they will never trouble the teachers of the Law!” (chapter twenty-six).

The spells of Upholder of the Nation represent the single character and are made up of nine phrases. The sutra text says of them, “These dhāranīs, these supernatural spells, are pronounced by forty-two million Buddhas” (ibid.). The number four here stands for the four sufferings of birth, aging, sickness, and death; the number ten stands for the Ten Worlds; and the number two stands for the two conditions of delusion and enlightenment.3 Upholder of the Nation is a name indicative of the environment p.187in which living beings exist, and the word  represents the Ten Worlds of living beings.

The spells of Increase and Growth represent the single characterren4 and are made up of thirteen phrases. The sutra text says of them, “These dhāranīs, these supernatural spells, are pronounced by Buddhas equal in number to the sands of the Ganges, and all of them respond with joy” (ibid.). The words “respond with joy” refer to the world or realm of Buddhahood.

The spells of Wide-Eyed represent the single character ge4 and are made up of forty-three phrases. The sutra text says of them, “They [these dhāranīs] will bring great benefit to living beings” (ibid.).

The spells of Vaishravana represent the single character kyō and are made up of six phrases. The sutra text says of them, “And I will also shield and guard those who uphold this sutra” (ibid.).

Notes

1. Here the Japanese name Kishimojin is explained. Ki means demon, shimeans children, mo means mother, and jin means goddess. The order of these elements is reversed in the explanation above.

2. The “Medicine King” chapter speaks of women who accept and uphold the Lotus Sutra, saying, “If there is a woman who hears this chapter on the Former Affairs of the Bodhisattva Medicine King and is able to accept and uphold it,” and “There is a woman who hears this sutra and carries out its practices as the sutra directs.” Therefore Nichiren identified the “person” in the quotation from the same chapter as a woman.

3. Here the number “forty-two” is represented by four, ten, and two, according to the Japanese way of reading.

4. Here ren (lotus) represents the effect of Buddhahood and ge (flower) represents the cause for great benefit or Buddhahood.
